This book talks about the origins, the design, the construction and the present of the building that houses ARTIUM, the Museum-Centre of Contemporary Art. With texts by Antonio Rivera, Iñaki Díaz Balerdi, José Luis Catón and Javier González de Durana, plus an introduction by Ramón Rabanera, president of the ARTIUM of Álava Foundation, the book goes through 70 years of the history of the city, from the first boost to the Bus Station in the 1931 to the intense activity of today’s museum-centre. It has a geat many illustrations, such as photographs and plans of the extinct livestock market and bus station, and of course of the building that nowadays stays at the same lot in Francia Street. It is also outstading the personal look of photographer Gert Voor in’t Holt about ARTIUM’s architecture. The title of the work follows that of the catalogue of the Collection of the museum-centre, ARTIUM. The Collection.
